The beautiful church was built at the Giudecca.
There were parties and dances for the inauguration and a procession
with a bridge made of boats between San Marco and the Church every year
on the third sunday of July. The Redentore is the biggest and the most celebrated recurrence for the Venetians. For them the Redentore means: watch the famous fireworks and cross the Giudecca Canal walking on the floating pontoons. |
